Why pick us

  • We check the grade and soil before we quote the job, so the base is right before concrete goes down.
  • We protect walkways, plants, and walls with plywood and plastic before we start pouring.
  • We write down what we find on site - cracks, drainage issues, uneven grade - so you know what the job involves.
  • We cut control joints at set intervals so cracking happens along those lines instead of across the surface.
  • We clean up forms, extra concrete, and debris before we leave the site.

Questions we get asked

How long before I can walk or drive on new concrete?

You can usually walk on a new slab after about 24 to 48 hours. Driving on it takes longer, often a week or more, depending on the mix and the weather.

Does Tucson heat cause problems during the pour?

Yes. High heat speeds up curing, so we adjust the mix and timing and often pour early in the day to keep the surface from drying too fast.

Will the concrete crack?

All concrete cracks eventually. We cut control joints into the slab so any cracking follows those lines instead of running across the surface.

Do I need a permit for a new driveway or patio?

Tucson and Pima County have permit requirements for some concrete work, depending on size and location. We can tell you what applies once we've seen your site.

What's under the slab - is caliche a problem?

Caliche is common in Tucson soil and doesn't drain well. We break through or remove it where needed so the base under the concrete compacts and drains properly.

Can you match my existing concrete?

We can match the color, finish, and scoring pattern of existing concrete as closely as the mix allows. Exact matches aren't always possible with older or weathered concrete.
